We updated the bundled TinyMCE to version 4.3.12 and Typeahead.js to version 0.11.0. We also fixed some minor issues reported since the 2.9.0 release.
The phpMyFAQ Team is pleased to announce phpMyFAQ 2.9.0, the "Prince" release and phpMyFAQ 2.8.28, the "Wölli" release. This new major version after more than 3 years adds support for PHP7 and HHVM. As option phpMyFAQ now also uses an awesome search engine powered by Elasticsearch and comes with a new mobile first, touch-friendly default layout powered by Bootstrap 3. We added support for Markdown and now you can configure a SMTP server for better mail experience. Version 2.9 adds a JSON export, a FAQ overview page, private notes to FAQs, MySQL socket support and a lot more configurable options in the admin backend. We updated all dependencies and cleaned up our code base.
phpMyFAQ 2.8 is supported for critical security issues only. Releases are only made on an as-needed basis, so please update your FAQs to 2.9 as soon as possible.
