The first alpha version of phpMyFAQ 1.5.0 is ready. Besides a lot of code improvements, this version adds support for PostgreSQL and Sybase databases, LDAP support, and the ability to use mod_rewrite for search engine-friendly URLs. Now you can link one FAQ record in various categories, the template engine can parse PHP code if you like, we have complete XML, XHTML, and DocBook XML exports, and a completely rewritten PDF export. Besides better RSS support, we've made a general code cleanup. Do not use this version in production systems, but test this version and report bugs!

The phpMyFAQ Team would like to announce the availability of phpMyFAQ 1.4.1. This version introduces three new translations with Swedish, Korean, and Japanese. This release added an improved category administration, a custom admin menu according to user permissions, easier record deleting, and support for cookies in the frontend to save the session and language. The user authorization needs fewer SQL queries in the admin section. The install script, the Chinese, and Portuguese language files were updated. IDN domain support and accessibility were improved too. Additionally, several bugs were fixed.

In response to vulnerabilities in the stable branch phpMyFAQ 1.3.x and the development version phpMyFAQ 1.4.x, we released the security updates, phpMyFAQ 1.3.13 and phpMyFAQ 1.4.0 alpha2. Everyone running affected versions of phpMyFAQ is encouraged to upgrade immediately. The new 1.3.13 release doesn't include other changes, so upgrading from 1.3.12 is safe. phpMyFAQ 1.4.0 alpha2 includes some unready new features like a better integration of the WYSIWYG editor, a better PDF export, and dozens of bug fixes. A detailed security advisory is available. We would like to thank Stefan Esser of e-matters GmbH for discovering this vulnerability. A patch for phpMyFAQ 1.2.x is available too.
